15th International Session
"Human Rights, Democracy, Tolerance –
Content and Methods of Education"
December 19-23, 2005, Moscow

The annual Session is taking place within the framework of recommendations made by UN, UNESCO and Council of Europe in sphere of human rights education.

Secondary schools teachers, higher schools professors, instructors on social sciences, lecturers, managers of educational institutions, social workers, NGOs representatives working in sphere of human rights, civic, democracy and peace education are invited to take a part.

Famous specialists in the sphere of human rights, law, political science, pedagogy, etc., representing Russian and International organizations, take part in the Session.

The following problems will be discussed:

The participants of the Session will be invited to visit educational institutions of Moscow, governmental institutions and human rights NGOs to get acquainted with the work in these fields.

The working language of the Session is Russian. During the Session and at your free time (by escort) we will provide translation into English.

Training and literature stuff are free of charge for the participants. Unfortunately we are not able to pay for your travel and stay in Russia.

We invite you, your colleagues and your organisation to take part at the Session. You are welcome to propose the theme of your report.

Registration fee for foreign participants is 50 USD.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Common Conditions.

  1. In order to apply for the session, you should fill the application form, it can be dounloaded below (either in .doc or in .pdf format). However, it would be better if you send the online application just from this site.
  2. Unfortunately, the Moscow School of Human Rights hasn't received any funding for covering expenses of participants, therefore it is not possible for us to cover your travel, accommodation, meal etc.
  3. We will try to provide the cheapest meal option which is possible at the venue of the Session.
  4. The program of the Session is still being designed; however, you should refer to the programs of several previous sessions below. The forthcoming 13th Session will be built on the same model.
  5. Since the Session is an event which aim is enlightenment of its participants, there is no practice of issuing its proceedings.

2. Visa request

For reception of the visa, it is necessary to receive the official invitation. These questions are solved with our partner Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH).

Cost of the invitation from RSUH and registration in Moscow = 2900 rubles (100 USD). You pay the invitation in Moscow.

In order to enable us to go through all formalities for an invitation, the following data is necessary: The aim of your visit and the name of the person who had invited you.

3. Accommodation Conditions.

In connection with different financial possibilities of the Session participants and organizational problems we ask you to reserve your accommodation during the Session in self-dependent way. 7. The Weather

The usual temperature in Moscow in the middle of December is around minus ten Celsius degrees, or plus fifteen Fahrenheit degrees. Usually, there is snow in the streets of Moscow to this moment. You should dress warmly before your trip to Moscow.
