Activities
The staff are acknowledged specialists in the field of pedagogy, psychology, sociology,
law, political science, social philosophy.
We can:
- hold consultations, provide with information on education in the sphere of human rights,
peace, and democracy
- organize and deliver lectures, courses of advanced educational training and retraining
- organize and arrange International sessions and seminars with participation of foreign
specialists in Moscow and different regions of Russia
- help building system of civic, human rights and democracy education in secondary schools
Our audience:
- school teachers, professors of universities and other educational institutions, managers
of educational institutions, parents;
- representatives of non-governmental organizations, human rights movement;
- state employees of social sphere, public health care, local governing, law-enforcement
organs and other structures.
Activity: seminars, sessions
In the course of the last few years our specialists took part in organizing and
arranging of more than 15 International seminars and sessions of
training teachers to teach human rights, democracy. These seminars were organized with
participation of the Council of Europe, UNESCO, Amnesty
International, Canadian Fund of Human Rights and other organizations. About 7,000
teachers have been trained at these seminars and sessions.
In the framework of the Year of Human Rights in the Russian Federation which
was declared by the President of Russia, the Moscow School of Human Rights took
part in organization of several official actions.
Since
October 12, 1998 the Moscow School of Human Rights in the partnership with the
Center for Conflict Management (Almaty, Kazakhstan) and Human
Rights Center, University of Essex (United Kingdom) carries out the Human
Rights Education In The Republic of Kazakhstan and Russian Federation
joint project financed by the Tacis-Phare
Democracy Program of the European Union.
On
August 1, 1999 carrying out the new MSHR's project including creation and
maintaining Human Rights, Democracy and Culture of Peace Education in the
Russian Federation mailing list was started. This project is realized with
the support of the International Research and Exchange Board (IREX)
for funds provided by the Carnegie
Corporation of New York.

- The 9th International Session on Human Rights
Education was held in Moscow on November 29-December 3, 1999.
- The 8th International Session on Human Rights
Education was held in Moscow on December 15-19, 1998.
- The Regional Scientific and Practical Conference Human
Rights: Contents and Methods of Education was held in Sochi on October 5-10,
1998.
- The Russian National Scientific and Methodical Conference on
Human Rights Education was carried out in Moscow from June 30th till July 2nd, 1998.
- The International conference Human Rights and Culture
of Peace on a Threshold of the Third Millennium took place in Samara on June
9-12, 1998.
